Alice Poole Architects offer a full architecture and interior design service, creating unique, imaginative and high quality environments for both domestic and commercial clients, with projects followed through from inception to completion of the project on site, also offering project management services. All types and sizes of commissions are welcomed which can encompass new-build as well as the extension, alteration and refurbishment of existing buildings, and Alice Poole Architects have special expertise in Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas.
Alice Poole does not have a ‘house’ style but treats every project as unique, with an emphasis on achieving the best spatial and design solutions to meet each client’s individual requirements. Alice Poole believes in the principles of The Arts and Crafts Movement and The Bauhaus where Architecture and Interior Design are combined to achieve a unified scheme with great attention to detail, using the interplay of light, shapes, colours and textures to create exciting and stimulating environments.
Alice Poole studied at the prestigious Bartlett School of Architecture at UCL, obtaining a First Class Degree and winning the Bartlett Prize for Architecture. She founded her own practice, Alice Poole Architects, in 1984 and has carried out over 650 projects. The majority of the practice’s projects are within the London/M25 area although projects have been carried out in all parts of the British Isles as well as Holland, France and Italy. Commissions are mostly obtained by reputation and referral from previous clients.
Alice Poole Architects offer a complete design solution with loose and fitted furniture designed into projects at the inception, sketch design stage. The bulk of the practice’s projects are residential, involving individual houses where kitchens, bathrooms, wardrobes and cabinetry are often designed by Alice Poole and made by specialist joiners. Soft furnishings can also be included to form part of the overall scheme.
