This house had previously been extensively altered and extended but as the plan lacked cohesion, Alice Poole rationalised the plan and added a ground floor extension allowing the internal areas to flow into each other which increased the feeling of spaciousness. In close collaboration with the client, Alice Poole designed all the fitted furniture including the kitchen, dressing rooms and bathrooms. Accents of copper were added throughout the ground floor from the bowl and floor tiles in the cloakroom, squares in the Mackintosh style coats cupboard in the hall through to the Louis Poulsen light in the hall.
