Full refurbishment and extension of a non-listed house in Bedford Park. By adjusting the heights of the original split-level floors and ceilings, uniformity was given to the rear of the ground floor, as well as giving height to the kitchen which had previously been lacking. A full basement was constructed under the house and, by the use of structural glazing to the floors and ceilings, light and outlook was given to the basement. Alice Poole also designed the lighting and fitted furniture, including the kitchen, throughout the house.
The project was entered for the ‘Don’t Move Improve’ competition, was shortlisted and was selected for exhibition in 2016.
